๐Ÿ”คAlphabetical Line Sorter Documentation & Guide

Text & Content
The Alphabetical Line Sorter organizes lists, words, arrays, and multiline datasets in ascending (Aโ€“Z), descending (Zโ€“A), natural numeric, or length-based sequences with case-sensitivity options.

๐Ÿ“‹How to Use This Tool

  1. Input Multiline Text: Paste items or sample data (one per line).
  2. Select Sorting Method: Choose A โ†’ Z, Z โ†’ A, Natural Numeric, or Line Length.
  3. Sort Lines: Click Sort Lines to rearrange the list immediately.
  4. Copy Output: Use the universal copy button to copy the sorted text.

โš™๏ธLexicographical vs. Natural Sorting

Standard computer sorting (ASCII/Unicode lexicographical order) sorts character-by-character, placing "Item 10" before "Item 2".

โ€ข Standard ASCII: Item 1, Item 10, Item 2, Item 20, Item 3
โ€ข Natural Numeric (Intl.Collator): Item 1, Item 2, Item 3, Item 10, Item 20

The Natural Numeric sort mode uses the ECMAScript Internationalization API (Intl.Collator(undefined, { numeric: true })) to parse embedded multidigit numbers intuitively.

๐Ÿ’กPractical Use Cases & Best Practices

  • Code & Config Hygiene: Alphabetize environment variables (.env), CSS properties, package dependencies, and import lists.
  • Dataset Normalization: Sort SKU numbers, product IDs, and version strings using Natural Numeric ordering so v2 precedes v10.
  • Bibliography & Glossary Preparation: Organize names, references, and domain lists in ascending or descending order.
100% Client-Side Privacy Guarantee:All list sorting operates client-side in browser RAM without cloud dependencies.
